My family and I have went to singapore to visit a family that we have known for more than 20 years. My father have knows the father of that family for over 20 years and until now, they are still good friends. My sister and I have grew up with their kids and we have known each other when the time we were born. We went to Singapore a lot because of them, and they have also came to Taiwan because of us. This year, we went there visit them again, and they have treated us really nicely. They have always introduced us really nice and fanout restaurant, and they would always drove us to any where we wanted to visit. We went to Universal Studios in Singapore, and also their shopping street called Orchard Street. The most interesting place we went probably is the Marina Bay Sands hotel. They had a swimming pool on the top of its building, and most of the visitors are there for it. We went to the top of the building and look down to view the singapore night view. It was really incredible. Singapore is one of the smallest countries in the world, yet, it was actually a really developed country. The skyscraper is just amazing and we have really enjoyed the time with singapore night view while drinking some drinks with that family, and talking about the childhood time we had before. It was really cool that I have known them for the whole of my life and we really had a good time there. Singapore is a really cool counties that their population is really diverse. Also it was a really clean countries so while we was there, we felt really comfortable being there. We also visited some other places and tried lots of singapore famous food. It was a really good trip to started my summer this year!

I took this when we were in Universal Studio. I think this Universal Studio is not as fun as the one in Japan. Because this is so much smaller than the one in Japan and it was really crowded and the weather was really hot.
China Qingdao
On the third week of July, my mom, sister and I went to Qingdao, China, to visit my dad. My dad is working there and living there most of the time. Thus, we have really less time to meet him. We flew to Qingdao, stayed in the apartment which my father lived. My cousin works for my dad as well and he took us around the city, including some famous places. We were really happy to be there and gathered with my dad. He has always worked really hard on earning money and supply us to study in the states. Yet, out family is really seperated most of the time since I am in the states, and my sister is studying in a boarding school. So half of the time my mom was living a lone in our house. So we really cherish the time when our family is gathered. We had a really good time and have lots of awesome dinner together. Qingdao is always a very awesome place that there is actually a lot of korean there as well. We had a lot of korean food since that was my sister's favorite. My sister and I also spend a lot of time in my dad's company, we have spend a lot of good times together watching movies since me and my sister do not have a lot of times together as well. This trip is amazing that it was my second trip flying abroad to different places on the world.
Celebrating my Birthday!
My birthday was like the last few days of the 2012 semester, and I was in the states, so the friends and my family did not actually have a change to celebrate it. When I came back to Taiwan, my mom and all my friends actually gave me a really unforgettable celebration. They have all decorated my room and they even baked the cake themselves! When I just arrived home, I was surprised. My eyes was covered by my friends and I soon heard a lot of noise come from different directions. There were a lot of my friends were lived in my house for a night just to prepare my birthday celebration. they have stayed up late, preparing the birthday gift, trying to look for the recipe of the cake, and even baking it. I think it was really touching, and they have make my birthday really unforgettable. I have always appreciate them as my friends, and after this even I guess I will cherish them more than ever! They have make my life better and although I'm at the states studying, they are always there at my back no matter what. I think that is what the true friends are. No matter where you are in the world, and no matter what you have been gone through with, they are just always there for you. Friends are one big part of my life and I am really thankful that I met them.

A-kon Concert
A-Kon to us is a really famous worldwide singer. Lots of people in Taiwan has always listened to his song and thus, there are lots of his fans here. He came to Taiwan for the firth time this summer, and certainly my friends and I have went to his concert! It was a really amazing concert make me realize again that music is really a magical things. It can tie people with different background and culture together no matter what.
Night Market experience
This market is one of the famous night market in Taiwan. Being a international student that study abroad for such a long time, the thing that I miss the most is the food. I used to thing that I was the kind of person that is used to live in any condition and can get used to any kind of food. Yet, staying in the United States for few years, I found out that i was actually really obsessed with Taiwanese food. So I made my mind that i have to visit once the night market in Taiwan. night Market is a really popular and famous culture in Taiwan that there are all kinds of food representing Taiwan, includes the well - known one. The night market usually starts at 8 pm, and until 10 pm, market will get really really crowed that you do not even need to walk and the power of the people will just pushed you walking. I think going to the night market is the best way of experiencing Taiwanese culture, because you usually can see lots of interesting people and certainly the peddler. When you chat with the peddler, you would find out that there are stories behind every of them, and later on discovered the history of Taiwan.

Although Taiwan is a really small island, but for me, it is a really beautiful island. Since it was really small, most of the family like to spend a week or so traveling around Taiwan from north to west, south, east then back to the north. We spent a lot of family time together again since it is really hard for my family to gather together. We also had a really wonderful time since our family did not really have a lot of time staying in Taiwan and enjoying the view or the life in Taiwan.
Salvador Dali Exhibition
During this summer, National Taiwan Democracy Hall has hold an exhibition of Salvador Dali. This exhibition was all over the News and people went there were all crazy about it. Thus, my friends and I had been there and see what is so special about him. At first, we had only heard of his name and not really knowing who he was. But after visiting the exhibition, we found out he was actually a really importnat artist in the history. He was a skilled draftsman, and best knows for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly Skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. He was also really highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. That makes him and really insane person, and in that way he had created a lot of pieces of art work that was famous through out the history. Although I did learned a lot from the exhibition, and found some of this works really inspire me, I have to admit that most of the time, I was really surprised that how could a person came out with that kind of crazy ideas. Yet, this world is too big, and thus there are all kinds of people out there with crazy imaginations. His works were really confusing, but, his craziness has let his name be well known by the world.
"The Persistence of Memory" Th is is one of his most recognizable works. Lots of soft melting pocket watch have epitomizes his central thinking at the time.
Surfing
It was like the second last weekend I had for 2012 summer. The weather was really hot and it was a gorgeous sunny day. Couples of my friends and I have decided to go to Yilan, the northeastern part of Taiwan, to go surfing. This was my first time surfing and we had a lot of fun. I figured out that surfing was actually a very tired sport that you have to aware of the waves all the times, otherwise you will be swept away by the power of the ocean. The lesson that I learned from this experience is that the nature is very powerful. Compare to us, the human, we are too small and insignificant. And so, the nature can defeat us in a second. Another thing I discovered is that the beach there was actually not very clean. There were garbages and bottles scatter on the beach. This shows that the people visiting there (and probably represent the people nowadays) still do not have the consciousness of not littering. Human and destroyed the environment by just littering on the beach, yet, at the same time, the power of the waves and the ocean can also destroyed us in a sudden. All in all, human really needs to find the balance to live on the world with the nature, and as well as preserve well the nature and so the human generation call alive on the earth longer.
Friend's house cultural experience
One of my friend's family has join the Rotary Club, which is a club that you can get to know different people from all oer the world. You can be a exchange students and then be assigned to a country, living with three different host family, experiencing the culture in the country. When one of your family member has become the exchange student, then your family also have to be as a host family to welcome and take care of three other exchange student from other countries. I think this club is a really interesting club and we get to know a lot of people from the world. My friends has became a exchange students in Belgium started this summer, and before that, her family has also received some foreign students, and they are form Korea, United States and Switzerland. During that few weeks, I would spend some times in her house, taking them to different places to visit in Taipei. What is more is that we would even staying at home, cooking meals that can represent the most of our own cultures for each other, and we chat and learn about each other a lot. I think this experience is really significant. We have let them know more about Taiwan, and after talking to them, I learned a lot more from them as well. We had a lot of fun spending time together, and they were all really nice!
